FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Salon 3.
5. February 2009, 7pm
At our first salon with Angela and Maurizio, the students asked lots of questions in regards to what resistance is, what it can look like, and how it relates to art. There seemed to be a strong demand for discussion, so I decided to not invite any guests for the 3rd salon and we spent it watching and discussing a series of mash-up clips, activist's documentaries and excerpts of "politically motivated" films, as well as experimental works. We looked at some of the following varying approaches: Santiago Alvarez, Negativland, Yes Men, Aleesa Cohene, Adam Curtis, Oliver Ressler, to name only a few. That day, our discussions stayed with Oliver Ressler's work, and focussed in on the idea of the "Multitude."

Dinner served: Mushroom Risotto

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

The 4th Salon expanded into a public presentation of Craig Baldwin's latest film
MOCK UP ON MU
which screened at the Arsenal
on February 19, 2009, 8pm

no dinner served, but the Arsenal provided free wine!

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

My final contribution to the series was to organize and facilitate a week-long 16mm found footage workshop with Craig Baldwin.

Dinner served on last day: vegetarian risotto and free beer!
